Carolyn Ranson

Carolyn had a interesting and successful career in business before travelling to the UK for her O. E.  While she was there she embarked on her career in the law and completed her law degree at City University, London in 1996.

On her return to New Zealand Carolyn utilised her business and legal skills as in house legal counsel for listed retirement village operator Metlifecare before practicing law at a city law firm. 

Carolyn has recently joined Smith and Partners and brings a depth of experience and knowledge to the team. She works alongside all the partners in the areas of business law, employment law, property law (private and commercial), trust law, estate planning and wills.  She also has a particular interest in retirement villages and elder law. 

As a mum to three school age children, Carolyn is happy with her choice of practice. She loves the variety of work and breadth of clients that Smith and Partners have to offer and is loving work-life balance opportunity.

Carolyn is an active committee member at her children’s school and in her local community. Like Smith and Partners she believes that community responsibility is an important aspect of modern life.

She enjoys skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. Carolyn also enjoys genealogy research.
