Smith and Partners is one of the largest and oldest law firms in Waitakere City.
Established by senior partner, Peter Smith, in 1988, we offer clients a broad range of services including property, commercial and personal advice.
The firm has developed a strong local identity since its foundation. The majority of our staff live and work in West Auckland and as a firm we are involved in a broad range of local community projects - from Community Health Trusts and Legal Advice Clinics to local service organisations.
Like many successful businesses, we have grown well beyond our original role as a small suburban firm serving predominantly our local community. Smith and Partners now have clients around New Zealand and indeed around the world - from Tokyo to New York.
Growth has also moved our practice into new areas of law. While conveyancing, small business advice and family law remain core areas of practice; our lawyers have developed expertise in a wide variety of areas. Leaky building cases, complex private company structures, international disputes concerning children, property developments and refinancing within the Pacific are just some of the areas in which our solicitors now practice.
Here at Smith and Partners we recognise the importance of identifying and meeting our clients’ needs. To ensure good communication we put a strong emphasis on personal contact between lawyer and client. The maintaining of this personal relationship helps us to understand fully what our clients require from us on any particular file.
